EXHIBITION & expansion
SKU: 36 OverviewEXHIBITION 20th CENTURY bundle:
the game & the expansion
1-5 players / 40 minutes / ages 10-100
Included in the game box (not in above content picture) are:
-- 10 SECRET DECADE cards. When each player gets such a (secret) card at the game start, each year from this decade in your exhibition brings an extra point at the end of the game.
-- The special 'Einstein' card, without a year or continent. So there are 101 century cards instead of 100. This 'Einstein' card can be any year or continent, but doesn't count for any of the scores.
THE GAME:
Each player tries to make the best exhibition about the 20th Century.
101 20th century objects are available to place in your exhibition. Each object is shown at 1 of 101 cards: 1 card for each year (1900-1999), and the 'Einstein' card.
Objects vary from the first Oscar award statue (1929) to Rubik's Cube (sold worldwide since 1980), the first bikini (1946) or flight recorder (1956), Euro coins (1999) or the last Tasmanian Tiger (1936), etc. etc.
Each object (card) belongs to 1 region:
19x North America
18x Europe
17x Asia
16x Africa
15x South America
14x Oceania
2x world ('1945' and 'Einstein') which are kind of Jokers, but have positive and negative effects with placing, scoring and moving your vehicle.
The first, random, available objects for your exhibition get placed in the center of the table in 6 columns of 3 cards each, 1 column per continent at the 6 continents (colors) tile.
In your turn you take 1 of the 3 object cards at the continent where your vehicle stands.
You move your vehicle to the continent equal to the continent of the card you took.
You place a new random card from the stock to refill the open spot.
Then you place the object in 1 of the showcases in your exhibition hall (or in your depot).
Each player places the objects in their own showcases in accordance to general (ascending years and different continents) and showcase-specific requirements.
Players try to fulfill goals to reach the most victory points. Some goals are individual, for other goals the players compete.
THE EXPANSION:
Add 1 or more VARIATION SHOWCASES to the players' exhibition halls, or place them on top of the base game showcases to replace those.
The 6 different showcases are:
- Showcase ANTIQUITY (2 spots) for 5/4/3/2/1(0) victory points: Who has the oldest year in the right side spot?
- Showcase UNIQUE DECADES (2 spots): Each decade must differ from the earlier placed decades of all players (including yourself) in this showcase. (With 4, 3 or 2 players, only the respectively middle 8, 6 or 4 decades are allowed. (So with 2 players only the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s.)
- Showcase SHORT ERA (3 spots) for 5/4/3/2/1(0) victory points: Who has the smallest difference in years between the left and the right side spot.
- Showcase ONE DECADE (3 spots): All cards in this showcase must have the same decade.
- Showcase SPREAD THE YEARS (4 spots): The difference between neighboring cards must be 20 years or more.
- Showcase LINKS (4 spots): Each 2 neighboring cards must have OR the same continent OR maximum 5 years difference. (or both)
